The client of this Sun Peaks weekend home, retained CDD prior to choosing a lot.  The site selection process included considerations such as uphill vs downhill lots, views, site development costs and ski -in/out access.  With a parcel of land that satisfied their criteria, the family of four actively participated with the designer in space planning exercises to ensure all their needs were met and the relationship between spaces was optimal.  The home is organized vertically: lower floor- recreation (rec-room, ski room and suite), middle floor- common (living, dining kitchen and main entry) and the upper floor- bedrooms.  The clean lines of the roof planes open up to the views of the resort to the south, while generous overhangs protect from the sun and snow fall.
