Client: Resort Municipality of Whistler
Date Completed: 2009
Lakeside Park is one of Whistler’s oldest waterfront parks. The park area had grown through development amenities and acquisitions on each side of the original park. The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) retained Murdoch+Company Architecture + Planning to undertake a master planning process, where by Crosland was retained as the project Landscape Architect. Public consultation including on-line surveys and open houses identified a preferred plan from numerous options. The project involved balancing community and commercial recreational needs with neighborhood concerns. The project design is centered on a great central lawn fronting the lake with supporting amenities to the periphery.
